If you suffer from migraine headaches, have heart trouble or feel tired all the time, you may want to explore the many uses for ginseng.  Ginseng is an all-natural .  Here are some purported health benefits of using ginseng:

1. Improve memory. Your brain is made up of many blood vessels.  Taking ginseng improves the blood circulation through all of the parts of your body, including your brain.  That extra added boost can help you to concentrate better, think faster and improve your attention to detail.

2. Use as an aphrodisiac.  The chinese love this herbal medicine because it can help stimulate blood flow, increase energy and hence restore sexual drive. So, if you are male, or you know a male who could use a sexual boost, a little ginseng certainly won’t hurt.

3. Migraine relief. Since it stimulates blood circulation, another of the uses for ginseng is ridding you of annoying headaches, or at least somewhat reducing headache pain.  Taking ginseng will help to open up constricted vessels in your head and allow better blood flow.

5. Promotes relaxation. Ginseng is said to help you relax and hence is a good antitode if you cannot sleep. It is also useful in cases of chronic fatigue and low energy levels.

6. Reduces diabetic symptoms. Ginseng appears to help people with diabetes. A limited study performed in March 2000 at the University of Toronto showed that ginseng could lower blood sugar 20% more than placebo.

Ginseng, like all other herbs or foods, should be taken in moderation.  You should also not be completely reliant on this traditonal chinese herbal medicine for curing your ailments. You should talk to your doctor if you have a serious illness, but you may want to try taking a bit of ginseng along with traditional treatment.

I came across this site randomly. I believe it is rather dangerous to promote ginseng like this. ginseng has very specific qualities and functions and when used inappropriately, can cause serious side effects. In chinese herbal medicine, herbs are rarely taken by themselves. Usually herbs are mixed into a formula where the synergistic effect of the combined herbs are desired. For example, someone with a history of migraines that took ginseng by itself, could cause a stroke, because ginseng can increase bp. However, combined with other herbs that will lower the BP, ginseng may be appropriate.
When taking chinese herbs, especially one as potent as ginseng, it is advisable to consult a Chinese Medicine doctor prior to use.
