Herbal Remedy For Eczema: Evening Primrose Oil
May 2, 2007 |
A herbal remedy for eczema is the evening primrose oil. This herb is very rich in omega-6 essential fatty acid (EFA) and gamma-lineolic acid. It is said that those with skin disorders including eczema, can generally be helped by taking evening rose oil supplements. EFAs can only be obtained from your diet and nowhere else. The only foods that are rich in EFAs are found in seafood, flax seed oil and evening primrose oil.
However, those with eczema may be allergic to seafood such as prawns, crabs or squids. I know I do and I can feel my skin itching right after a meal that contains these foods. The evening primrose oil would be a better source of EFAs for me.
You can obtain this herbal remedy for eczema in your local health store. It is sold either in capsule form or in liquid form. In liquid form, you can either consume it on its own or simply add it to your food such as salads and drinks.
