Natural Remedy For Hair Loss

April 29, 2007 |

Saw Palmetto can be used as a natural treatment for hair loss. Saw palmetto is a fruit that grows in warmer climates throughout the world.  It can most often be found the South Eastern regions of the

United States.

This particular fruit is known for its effectiveness for male pattern baldness. It is believed to act against the hormones and enzymes that most often cause hair loss from genetic factors. It works by blocking the enzymes that are causing the hair loss by reacting with the testosterone hormone.

For prevention and as a natural remedy for hair loss, you should consume the fruit every day.  In supplement form, the recommended dosage is three hundred and twenty milligrams per day, especially if it is only an extract.  You may also be able to find supplements that contain the nutrients of saw palmetto in order to help with the hair growth.

However do note that if you take this particular fruit without taking other foods of substance, it may result in a headache or stomachache.

Other than used as a natural remedy for hair loss, saw palmetto is reportedly recommended for good prostate health.  Therefore, do consume this fruit if you are a man and if your dad is also balding.
